Newmont Mining's Indonesia Troubles? ::

February 11, 2008

Indonesia's government is threatening to terminate a contract with Newmont Mining (NYSE: NEM) to run a major gold and copper mine on Sumbawa island.

A quick screen using Revere's Revenue by Geography tool reveals that a major Newmont competitor, Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold, Inc (NYSE FCX) also has a major presence in Indonesia and could be a beneficiary if Newmont indeed loses its contract.

For help on how to use Revere's Revenue by Geography tool, or for information on Revere GeoRev™, please do not hesitate to contact our Research, Sales, and Customer Support teams.

Sincerely,
